Flux 1, Blue Medium Sculptural Form
Part of the Reflections collection, Flux 1, Blue began as a loose, freehand drawing. That original line was preserved rather than smoothed away, then transformed into a thin dimensional form: hand-painted paper applied to birchwood, with a contrasting painted edge that reveals its profile from the side.
The form is displayed on a wood-and-steel stand, connected by a visible magnet where it meets the steel wire. The magnetic pull and the small click as it locks into place are part of the piece itself. Because of that connection, the form can turn, shift, or hold still, so the piece continues to change with the light, the shadow, and the angle you view it from.
Flux explores the relationship between shape, color, and negative space, and like the rest of the Reflections collection, it's left open to your own interpretation. What do you see in it?
